Hello, everyone! My name is Eve Han, and I am in Year 4 at St. Andrews’ School in Australia. Due to my Chinese heritage, I grew up in a household where English and Mandarin were spoken, significantly contributing to my proficiency in both languages.

I’ve always been interested in various aspects of Chinese culture, such as food, landscapes, architecture, and traditions. Even from a young age, I found joy in sketching Chinese dumplings, pandas, and the remarkable Forbidden City.

Encouraged by my parents’ unwavering support, I aspire to become a skilled artist as I grow.

At the age of 8, I began experimenting with different painting techniques.

I enjoy incorporating elements of Chinese culture into my artwork, like depicting a Chinese dragon in a Halloween-themed piece. Dragons are significant in Chinese culture as symbols of good fortune and happiness.

Additionally, I’ve explored painting still life and landscapes that evoke memories of my hometown.

These experiences inspire me to create colourful and dynamic artworks that blend elements from both Eastern and Western cultures.

I firmly believe that art has the power to communicate across borders and connect people from diverse backgrounds. Therefore, I am committed to honing my painting skills and using my art to tell stories that resonate with people worldwide.

In the future, I hope to explore Asia further and perhaps pursue formal art education in the region.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my artistic journey.
